This College is a full-fledged College of both +2 & +3 streams in Arts, Science & Commerce. It was a product of the galaxy if top intellectuals, political leaders & elderly persons at the locality established on the August 1978. It started with only Intermediate Arts faculty providing teaching facilities in English, M.I.L. (Odia), Sanskrit, Odia, Hist., Political Science, Economics & Logic. During 1983-84 session the Degree course started in Arts. Next the college got concurrence for opening of Commerce & Science in intermediate classes with the subjects English, M.I.L. (O), Physics, Chemistry, Math, Botany, Zoology.
During 1991-92 session the Degree College get the honor by opening Hons teaching facilities in Arts subject like Political Science, History, Economics, Odia, Sanskrit. During 2004-05 session the this honors teaching for Physics & Math were started and in 2010-11 honors in chemistry & Zoology were opened including +3 Commerce . This College successfully running since its inception with its NSS, YRC units including a modern gymnasium besides the college provides facilities to all students in all types if games & sports both indoor & outdoor.
This college provides education for both Boys & Girls. The college have an unblemished record of academic & administrative excellence. It has provided transparence in all matters including finance. It has a promise to achieve its objectives through continuous Endeavour.

MISSION:-

The hill town Nilgiri is densely populated by the tribal & socio economically underprivileged class. The mission of this college is to eradicated ignorance, blind belief & superstitions from the society by imparting good education to the people & their incumbent.
